The biography of Nikolai Ivanovich Kostomarov (1817-1885) is itself an illustration of the statement of one of the Goncourt brothers, who said that the life of every person is a fascinating novel, you just need to be able to write it. Kostomarov, perhaps, himself adhered to a similar opinion: he twice had to defend his master's work, twice start professorship, twice agree on a wedding... With his works, Kostomarov immediately declared himself as a major scientist. He was invited to the Department of History of the Metropolitan University.
