Late antique author's epic created by Nonna Panopolitan. Nonne of Panopol (life years presumably 400-470 AD) is the author of the last epic of antiquity of the Feat (Acts) of Dionysus. The poem consists of 48 songs with a total volume of approximately 22 thousand verses and tells about the origin and incarnations of Dionysus, his war with the Indians and Giants. The work contains information about mystical and orphic cults that are not found anywhere else and serve as our only source about the spiritual life of late antiquity. A significant advantage of the poem is also that it is presented in an artistically convincing form, bright and accessible to the widest range of readers, despite the complexity of the subject.
