The course of the history of design covers the period from ancient times, the beginning of the subject-artistic activity of man, to the turn of the XX - XXI centuries. The main historical eras, style directions, design trends, as well as key figures are presented. Separate chapters are devoted to the evolution of domestic design, its place in the development of world design. At the end of the book, a small dictionary of leading styles and style trends in art and design of the 20th century is given.
