This small collection is the first attempt to highlight some issues of the history of Jews in Crimea from antiquity to the 1930s. It is no coincidence that it is called "Essays," since the necessary factual material has not yet been accumulated in order to consistently present all periods of history. The history of the Jews of Crimea in the Middle Ages (both early and late) is almost not developed, the issues of resettlement of Ashkenazi Jews to Crimea, who moved here from Germany through Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine, are not affected.
