The book outlines the theoretical and practical foundations for the manufacture of castings from precious metal alloys; a historical review of the methods of casting gold and silver alloys is given; described are methods of producing elastic moulds, melting patterns and refractory moulds, methods of melting and casting precious metals, as well as methods of creating protective and decorative coatings on cast articles; the causes of marriage are considered; the experience of making castings from precious metals in the conditions of the artist's workshop is summarized.
