The monograph contains current data on neurophysiological mechanisms of excitation transmission in the arc of an autonomous reflex. The main features of the anatomical structure of the three departments, or parts of the autonomous nervous system - sympathetic, parasympathetic and metasympathetic; provides information on the functional differences between them; cytological, ultrastructural and histochemical characteristics of neurons of autonomous nerve nodes, inter-neural connections are considered.
