The basics of the theory of drying wet materials (kinetics and statics of the thermal drying process) are presented. Various simplified models of drying kinetics were analyzed. Drying methods for various types of wet materials are considered. Technological schemes and designs of dryers are given. For each type of dryer, an example of calculation based on specific input data is given. Selection of dryer type depending on wet material properties and end product requirements is considered.
