Donkey Skin was once the most famous of French literary tales. It was actually synonymous with the word "fairy tale." It was only later that she was supplanted by Cinderella, which is very close in plot. Worker Cinderella became a more suitable heroine than the hiding princess Donkey skin. Perrault had two variants of this work. One in prose, the other in verse. In this fairy tale there is magic, and outfits (including gold, like Cinderella's), and a fairy godmother, and a prince who saw a girl only once, fell in love and then chose her by fitting.
