The book of the famous statesman of the USA, the leading American Sovietologist Zbigniew Brzezinski is devoted to American-Soviet relations. In a book published already during perestroika in the USSR, Brzezinski, although he recognized the Soviet Union as a "one-dimensional (strong only in the military sphere) adversary," believed that the geopolitical rivalry of the two superpowers would continue for decades. A large place in the book is given to the "three main strategic fronts" in Eurasia, on which the struggle between the United States and the USSR is waged: Western, Far Eastern and Southern. At the same time, Brzezinski is trying to prove the "continuity of expansionist aspirations" of the Soviet Union and tsarist Russia, making various kinds of historical excursions. The United States, in his opinion, protects its vital interests on each of the fronts.
