"Alma" is the second book of the series "Military-historical essay of the Crimean campaign (1854-1856) of the Eastern war (1853-1856) of the famous Crimean military historian Sergei Chennyk. Its difference from the previous one is that the events of just one day are described here - September 8 (20), 1854. But even such a time-limited plot does not reduce the dynamism and does not reduce the intrigue inherent in it. Instead of a boring narrative about a seemingly long-studied battle, the author shows it as a confrontation between three military leaders: Russian commander-in-chief Prince A.S. Menshikov, English General Lord Raglan and Marshal of France Saint-Arnaud.
