In 1780, the grandiose journey of the Russian Empress Catherine ІІ to Belarusian governorates was planned and took place. This publication for the first time presented the history and state of the East Belorussian lands annexed to the Russian Empire in 1772, which the empress visited. Cities, towns and other villages are described in detail, indicating the number of inhabitants, their occupation. It tells about the sights of these places: a description of castles, palaces, temples, monasteries of Eastern Belarus is given. Information on the geography of the region is also included.
