The book is dedicated to the centuries-old architectural and artistic history of one of the outstanding Christian shrines of Lviv - St. Jura Cathedral, which for many centuries has been an important center of spiritual and cultural life in Western Ukrainian lands. Based on a significant array of literary, museum and archival sources, the socio-historical circumstances of the formation and evolution of the Svyatoyursky ensemble are comprehensively covered, the architectural and stylistic features of the temple and the entire complex of structures, which, together with expensive works of sculpture, painting, icon painting, foundry and blacksmithing, belong to the best achievements of Russian culture.
