The book is one of the first monographic reports in the world literature on the study of the physiological mechanisms of functional interhemispheric asymmetry and the interaction of the cerebral hemispheres. The data obtained mainly by the author and his collaborators are presented. The issues of homo- and heterotopicity in brain activity, the characteristic of interhemispheric asymmetry, the role of interhemispheric synthesis and unipolar dominance, the function of the corpus callosum, the properties of "diffusivity" and "focality" in the functioning of the hemispheres, as well as the value of physiological dominance in interhemispheric interaction are considered.
