Geographer and traveler Strabo (I BC) was one of the largest scientists of antiquity. His "Geography" is the most authoritative and unbiased description of the Roman Empire and its bordering countries. Created on the basis of available sources, as well as oral communications and personal observations, Geography remains an important historical and geographical composition, without which our ideas about the ancient world would be far from complete.
