How and for what reasons did the attitude of Russian society towards England change? What impact did national stereotypes have on this? What was the degree of influence of Britain and the British on the ideas of Russians about their own country, the world around them and their role in it? These problems were investigated in a monograph over a long period of time and on specific examples of contacts of famous, little-known and unknown to modern historical science people.
