The owner of the largest and most expensive collection of Chinese porcelain in Russia loses a significant part of it - some of the exhibits are stolen directly from his house. Orest Volin, senior investigator of the Investigative Committee, is investigating this crime. He finds out that all the stolen things are united not by antiquity or value, but by their small size. The only exception is a porcelain Chinese dummy depicting Mile Buddha. It is not only the largest of the stolen items, but also the most ordinary, cheapest. Why would a thief need him?
