This publication combines the fundamental works of academician B. B. Piotrovsky (1908-1990), which today have become a bibliographic rarity, but are in demand by specialists in the history of the Ancient East and Scythian archeology. The book "The Kingdom of Van (Urartu)" (1959) summed up the author's many years of research on the Karmir-blur hill in Armenia. Based on the analysis of the materials of the Teishebaini fortress, various episodes of the history of the state of Urartu are restored, giving the most important sources for interpreting its relationship with Assyria and other neighbors, with the Scythians.
