The book describes the experience gained by the author as a result of many years of scientific research, development, design and implementation of automated electric drives for industrial mechanisms for various purposes. The electric drives discussed herein are characterized in that the mechanisms they drive have specific requirements that go beyond the conventional requirements for regulating the speed or torque of an electric motor. Such electric drives include adjustable single-engine and multi-engine electric drives of mechanisms of continuous processing of strip material in cold and hot rolling shops, which are devoted to chapter 1. Chapter 2 discusses the features of electric drives of mechanisms of cold rolling mills. Chapter 3 is devoted to the development of electric drives with increased reliability and efficiency. Chapter 4 discusses the electric drives of the mechanisms of cranes for various purposes.
