The monograph is devoted to the problems of political and constitutional development of the Syrian Arab Republic (1920-2012). The stages of the state development of the country since the adoption of the first constitution in 1920 are considered; the evolution of the party system; internal and external factors affecting constitutional construction; the modern stage of constitutional reform; an analysis of the political transformations that began after the protests of 2011 and the 2012 Constitution is given.
