The chronological framework of the first volume of the collection of documents on the history of Vyborg is limited to the 18th - early 19th centuries, from the time of the Northern War (1700-1721) to the formation of the Grand Duchy of Finland. Among the documents submitted are government decrees and governor's reports on the Vyborg province for 1804-1811, reflecting the political, cultural and economic aspects of the history of Vyborg and the adjacent territories.
