The novel is dedicated to the struggle of the Russian people led by Prince Dmitry Donskoy with the Golden Horde, the defeat of the Tatars on the Vozha River and the historical victory of the Russian troops on the Kulikov field. This patriotic work about the power of Russian weapons, written with great love for their native people, their history and culture, was awarded the USSR State Prize.
