During the war, the following note appeared in one of the front-line newspapers:" On October 4, 1943, a German combat aircraft landed near the city of Rzhev at the location of our troops. On it, the pilot of the Soviet Air Force, Lieutenant Arkady Mikhailovich Kovyazin, escaped from fascist captivity."
