This volume is the third publication of the five-volume edition of Selected Works prepared by the Commission on the Literary Heritage of Academician V.V. Vinogradov, and is included in the general plan of the publication. It includes selected articles on historical and modern lexicology, the meaning of words and phraseological units, and the theory and practice of vocabulary. Articles are printed without any changes, only in some works of the early 50s the abbreviations stipulated in the comments were made.
