When, on a stormy autumn morning, Major Ted Tyler, the chief of security at one of the aviation bases, was informed of the mysterious disappearance of third-class private aviation Mort Clayton in the fifth repair hangar, he considered it just some stupid prank. But it turned out not to be a hoax. Private Mort Clayton did disappear. It was a strange disappearance, very incomprehensible: it disappeared in front of several dumbfounded colleagues, moreover, leaving neatly laid out uniforms on the concrete floor of the hangar, right down to the underwear. And the return appearance in the same place of Mort Clayton after a while was also completely inexplicable, as well as his incomprehensible state with incoherent muttering about some kind of "yellow sand" and "endless sea." But, neither Major Tyler, nor all other eyewitnesses of this incident could even think that this is just the beginning of a certain chain of strange and terrible events.
