Linux commands, command line basics, and system configuration using programs with only a text interface are considered. Work with the system is performed only in console mode, which requires certain user skills. The most useful Linux commands, features of the Linux file system, initialization systems, GRUB and GRUB2 bootloaders are described in detail. From the user's perspective, the interactive capabilities of the zsh shell are appreciated. Practical examples of developing scripts in bash and tcsh shell languages ​ ​ are given. Package management for the most current distributions is considered. A separate chapter has been written for Linux enthusiasts on developing their own Linux distribution and creating a bootable LiveCD.
