Thomas Malthus - English scientist, demographer and economist. He is the author of the theory that population growth leads to a decrease in well-being and mass hunger. At the same time, government intervention in the distribution of income between the rich and the poor does nothing, since the dominant class is insignificant in comparison with the huge mass of the poor, and attempts to redistribute the wealth of the dominant class in favor of the poor will not solve the problem of poverty. Hence, Malthus considered wars and epidemics to be a genuine boon to humanity, as they help reduce the number of people on Earth so that the remaining ones live better.
