Velyaminov-Zernov Vladimir Vladimirovich (1830-1904) - Russian orientalist historian, archaeologist, linguist, numismatist, academician (1858). In 1851, Velyaminov-Zernov was sent to Orenburg at the disposal of the Governor General. Here he studied the languages, history and ethnography of Kazakhs and Bashkirs. The main work of Velyaminov-Zernov "Research on the Kasimov kings and princes" contains extensive historical information about Kazakhs and Bashkirs.
