The tale "The Gray Neck" of Mamin-Sibiryak is a small touching story of a small duck with which a fox broke a wing, depriving it of the ability to fly. Gray Neck's parents could not take her with them to warm lands and left completely alone for the winter. Many dangers lay in wait for the Gray Neck. But by a lucky coincidence, the hunter found the duck and decided to take it with him to the house, to his little granddaughters.
