Based on lecture courses delivered by the author at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University. The purpose of the book is to outline a number of chapters of algebra that are not included in compulsory algebraic courses. The chapters presented in the book include elements of commutative algebra, group theory, rings, Lie algebras, the foundations of homological algebra and the theory of algebraic groups, algebra varieties.
