The book on the example of the well-known dBASE family describes the purpose, principles of construction, functions * and experience in the practical use of a relational type database management system (DBMS,). A large name is given to describing the structure and methods of building a menu-driven user interface. The concept, syntax and functions of high-level languages ​ ​ dBASE and SQL used for programming information tasks are considered. The presentation of the material is accompanied by numerous examples. In particular, the work with the control center of the dBASE IV package, which implements a menu-controlled user interface, is explained using the example of the task of accounting for transportation by a car enterprise.
