For the first time in our country, a reference publication on the use of herbal medicine in psychiatry contains a summary of the current experience of medicine in this area. A brief botanical reference, chemical composition, basic pharmacological characteristics of 54 species of medicinal plants approved for use in the USSR are presented. The description of plants is distributed in chapters depending on their predominant psychotropic effect.
