At the Faculty of History and Philology of Kyiv University of St. Vladimir at the end of the XIX century. serious scientific work was carried out to study the history of Ancient Russia. The Volyn land was inhabited by the East Slavic people of the Dulebs living along the upper reaches of both Bugs, the right tributaries of Pripyat, the Kremenets mountains and spurs, gradually moving north. From the beginning of the tenth century, the territory of Volyn is part of the Principality of Kyiv, from the end of the twelfth it stands out in Galicia-Volyn, and from the second half of the fourteenth it comes under the rule of Lithuania and Poland.
