This dictionary has been around for over sixty years. In its current form, it contains about one and a half thousand articles, which present thinkers, concepts and trends in philosophy from antiquity to the present day. The compilers sought to preserve the universal nature of the dictionary, including the basic terms of ethics, aesthetics, logic, philosophical issues of natural science, sociology, psychology, and religious studies. Compared to the previous edition, the dictionary is one third supplemented with new articles, most of the surviving articles have been revised. The combination of modern and traditional ideas, thematic completeness make it possible to recommend the dictionary both for the educational process and for self-education to a wide range of readers.
