The tutorial is designed to learn parallel computing using MPI technology, the main programming tool for distributed memory computing systems. The tutorial includes a description of the MPI parallel programming environment, basic operations and functions in C and FORTRAN. Examples of parallel programs and tasks for self-work are given. The manual is intended for undergraduate and graduate students and graduate students studying in areas related to mathematical modeling and information technology. The first edition was released in 2007 at USTU-UPI.
