In the book of Professor A. N. Mayurov, for the first time in Russian literature, the complex processes associated with the struggle of Russian society against drunkenness and soldering of the people in Russia-the USSR are investigated, the forces that turned the soldering of the people into a profitable business are shown. The main stages of the fight against drunkenness and the development of the temperance movement are revealed. Of great interest is the history of the temperance movement until 1917. It details the state-social movement for sobriety in the twenties and eighties of the past century. Its improvement is shown today.
