Leonid Ivanovich Dobychin (1894-1936) represents the most mysterious figure in the Soviet writing world of the 1920s and 1930s. Arising from provincial nothingness, with his talent he attracted the attention of such writers and writers as K. Chukovsky, V. Kaverin, D. Kharms, M. Slonimsky, Yu. Tynyanov, K. Fedin and many others.
