The paper describes all amber finds known in the world, the principles of classification of fossil resins are given. For the first time, based on paleo-floristics and paleogeography data, a number of amber-bearing provinces were identified, divided by field type into sub-provinces. A description of the largest amber deposits is given and a genetic classification of amber deposits and an industrial assessment of their individual types are developed. The work is designed for geologists and all persons interested in amber deposits and generally ornamental stones.
