Russian revolutionary Vera Figner (1852-1942) went through twenty years of solitary confinement in the Shlisselburg hard labor prison, was one of the leaders of Narodnaya Volya, participated in the preparation of three attempts on Alexander II (in the USSR she was assigned a personal pension for this) and lived to ninety years. The study of the candidate of historical sciences Andrei Voronikhin is her first scientific biography in Russia.
