The Rurik dynasty ruled Russia for seven and a half centuries. The fate of our country is tightly intertwined with the fate of this kind. The personalities belonging to him had a noticeable impact on the politics, culture, faith, life of the Russian Middle Ages. Their names are filled with textbooks, films, historical novels. Their picturesque images hang in picture galleries and adorn the walls of temples. Historians argue about their deeds at this time. The book, offered to the attention of readers, includes more than three dozen biographies. Among her heroes are outstanding statesmen and commanders, revered Orthodox saints and - next to them - people who, at first glance, have not done anything remarkable in their lives. Some of them ruled small principalities, others held the title of grand dukes, and then the kings of Moscow and all Russia, ruled huge territories. But it is through the biographies of these people, united in one book, that one can trace how the original Principality of Kyiv over the course of several centuries turned into another state - the very one in which we still live today - Russia.
