Catathymic-imaginative psychotherapy took shape as an independent direction of psychodynamic therapy only in the middle of the last century in the works of Hanskarl Leiner. This tutorial describes what's new in this area in recent years. First of all, this concerns the status of imaginations, which are not considered autonomously, but as a specific product of the dynamics of psychotherapeutic relationships. The definition of therapeutic catathymic imagination is formulated, including kinesthetic measurement as a mandatory attribute.
