Even doctors who seek scientific justification for everything and are skeptical of miracles sometimes face unexplained situations. About a decade ago, Dr. Scott Kolbaba was approached by a patient with severe pain in his right upper abdomen, typical of gallbladder problems. To the doctor's surprise, blood tests and ultrasound results of the gallbladder and liver were normal. Kolbaba did not know what the problem was and booked the patient in for a more thorough gallbladder exam. The next night, the doctor had a strange dream in which his patient underwent a pulmonary tomography. It seemed illogical, because the pain was in the stomach, not in the chest. Nevertheless, Kolbaba decided to listen to his intuition and recorded the patient for chest tomography. To his great surprise, the patient was found to have a blood clot in his right lung next to his diaphragm. It turned out that he had hereditary problems with blood clotting, and he was prescribed blood-thinning drugs. Columba's dream saved the man's life. The doctor was so impressed by this situation that he began to ask his colleagues if there was something similar in their practice.
