The monograph studies the mythoepic ideas of one of the oldest peoples of the Iberian Peninsula - the Basques in their connection with the Mediterranean and Atlantic cultural traditions. Summarizing the hypotheses and observations of a number of researchers - linguists, archaeologists, ethnographers and, above all, folklorists and mythologists, the author draws main attention to the actual linguistic expression of certain mythoepic ideas.
