The language system in this work is understood as a set of possible methods and means of expression that each national language has, and the norm is understood as a set of rules for selecting such methods and means of expression (possible in the system of this language), which are accepted in this society at a given time and which are recognized by the majority of speakers as the most suitable for use in a particular communicative situation. The norm does not realize all of the possibilities that the language system has. Between the system and the norm is uzus - the use of language in different areas of human activity, speech practice.
