The work analyzes the patterns, as well as the phylogenetic and environmental consequences of coevolution of fungi and plants. The co-evolutionary hypotheses of land development by plants and fungi are critically evaluated and the original trophocenotic scenario of their exit to land is proposed as a natural act of ecosystem evolution. The importance of mycorrhiza, endophytism, as well as saprotrophic fungi for the evolution of plant communities in different geological periods of the biosphere development is considered. It is proposed to consider fungal parasitism as one of the factors in plant evolution; ways and directions of evolution of fungal parasitism are analyzed.
