The book is devoted to the history of the land of the Prussians from the first mention of the Amber Territory in written sources to the time the Prussians lost their independence as a result of order aggression. For the first time in the historiography of the Prussians, both written and archaeological sources are involved in the reconstruction of the stages of their history. The work highlights many pages of the history of the Southeast Baltic, never studied by specialists. A mass of archaeological material from the turn of the 1st and 2nd millennia AD, obtained by archaeological excavations carried out in the territory of the modern Kaliningrad region, is being introduced into scientific circulation. The book is designed for archaeologists, historians and those who are interested in the history of the Baltic states and the entire eastern outskirts of Barbaricum. The book opens a series "Prussia Antiqua," founded in 2002 and intended for the publication of works on the archeology and history of the Prussians and their neighbors.
