The book is devoted to the theoretical foundations of metallurgical heat engineering. The issues of technical thermodynamics, theory of motion of liquids and gases are considered. The methods of the theory of similarity, the foundations of the theory of heat and mass transfer are presented. Described are processes of metal melting and processes occurring in bubbling liquid bath. Theoretical and practical aspects of heat generation due to chemical energy of fuel and charge, as well as due to electric power are considered, basic information on drying theory is given.
