Over the years of the Cossacks, many events have left a mark on the people's memory. This is the Pereyaslavskaya Rada, at which the patronage of the Moscow kingdom over Ukraine was approved, and the split of Ukraine, the ruin that occurred after the Rada. This is the abolition of the Hetmanate in 1764 and the destruction of the Zaporizhzhya Sich in 1775. But there were earlier events in whose assessments there is currently no common point of view.
