The book traces the development of medieval architecture in the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean, Transcaucasia, Ancient Russia, the Middle East and Central Asia from the 4th - 5th to the 14th - 15th centuries. General patterns of development of the architecture of these countries are revealed, depending on changes in social conditions, ideology, economic and political situation. However, in each country these patterns appear in completely different, peculiar forms. The book is an abridged summary of the author's original research. The publication contains illustrations.
