When presenting the theory of rolling bodies with friction, the author relied on the theory of non-free motion of bodies taking into account friction, on some sections of solid state physics and physical chemistry of surface phenomena, as well as on the applied mechanics of calculating and constructing friction nodes. The issues of the nature of friction and wear of materials, the foundations of tribology are considered.
