Rostania's economy is collapsing under the heavy weight of the military-industrial complex, inefficient agriculture is unable to cope with the growing food shortage, drugs are spreading through the streets, penetrating respectable hitherto families, and the state is powerless to stop the surge in theft and banditry. But the propaganda state machine does not slow down, preventing the very thought of even a slight change of course. The state is doomed. The clay legs of the colossus should have fallen apart long ago under the weight of the torso. And only thanks to the Keepers, who secretly protected humanity for centuries, the sad outcome is postponed for a while. But there are few of them, and they are tired of obscurity, tired of saving the world, without receiving any gratitude for that. Their Council usurps more and more power, the organization decomposes from within, and the exhausted influx of fresh personnel only aggravates the matter.
